The women innovators shaping the Future: meet the finalists of Italy’s GammaDonna 2025 Award

The six finalists of the GammaDonna 2025 Award who are reshaping innovation in Italy with impact, technology, and vision.

The GammaDonna Award is one of Italy’s most respected prizes for innovative female entrepreneurship. Since 2004, it has celebrated women who are transforming key sectors such as healthcare, energy, digital technology, circular economy, and design.
In 2025, the six finalists selected are redefining what it means to lead a business with purpose—merging emerging technologies, sustainable models, and inclusive leadership.

The final ceremony will take place on November 4, 2025, at Palazzo Madama in Turin, during the city’s tenure as European Capital of Innovation 2024–2025.


Who are the six GammaDonna 2025 finalists?

1. Rosilari Bellacosa – SynDiag (Turin)

AI-powered femtech for early ovarian cancer detection

Rosilari Bellacosa is the co-founder and CTO of SynDiag, a femtech startup that uses artificial intelligence to support gynecological diagnostics. With a PhD in neuroscience, she transformed an academic project into a commercial product: OvAI Focus, a tool that interprets ultrasound scans clearly and accessibly for doctors and patients.
SynDiag collaborates with hospitals across Italy and abroad and is one of the most advanced AI solutions in European women’s health tech.

2. Silvia Costa – GCE (La Spezia)

Turning waste into energy with AI and circular innovation

Silvia Costa leads GCE, a company pioneering in intelligent waste management. GCE is working toward “end of waste” certification by converting industrial waste into alternative fuels through automated, AI-driven processes.
The company stands out in Italy’s circular economy sector by minimizing landfill use and maximizing resource recovery with a sustainable, human-centered business model.

3. Valeria Della Rosa – Oli Help (Milan)

AI-based app to support children with ADHD and their caregivers

Founder of Oli Help, Valeria Della Rosa developed the first AI-powered app designed to assist parents, educators, and teachers in supporting children with neurodevelopmental disorders—particularly ADHD.
The app combines scientific evidence with practical tools and is already in use in Italy, the UK, and Australia. Oli Help is among the most promising female-led startups in Europe’s health tech for education sector.

4. Francesca Failoni – Alps Blockchain (Trento)

Sustainable digital mining and blockchain infrastructure

Francesca Failoni is co-founder and CFO of Alps Blockchain, a company that merges blockchain technology with renewable energy development. Since 2018, the company has raised over €200 million in investments and has established operations in the US, Paraguay, Ecuador, and Oman.
The mission: make cryptocurrency mining more transparent, traceable, and environmentally responsible.

5. Eneida Lila – Lizard (Milan)

Furniture-as-a-Service: modular, circular, and smart

With Lizard, Eneida Lila launched a circular furniture platform for the real estate sector. Her Furniture-as-a-Service model includes modular and traceable products, maintenance, take-back, and regeneration services.
Lizard integrates industrial design, digital technology, and sustainability, aiming to become the leading platform for circular furniture in Europe.

6. Simona Maschi – CIID (Copenhagen / Bergamo)

Systemic design for sustainable innovation

Simona Maschi is co-founder and director of the Copenhagen Institute of Interaction Design (CIID), a world-renowned center for systemic design, innovation, and entrepreneurial education.
The CIID has trained more than 1,000 professionals from 40+ countries. Its new Bergamo campus strengthens Italy’s role in global digital design for sustainability and social impact.

What is the GammaDonna Award?

The GammaDonna Award is an initiative by the non-profit GammaDonna Association, which has been working since 2004 to promote innovative female entrepreneurship and reduce the gender gap in business and innovation.
In addition to the main award, the event also presents:

  • the Women Startup Award, for the most innovative startup
  • the Giuliana Bertin Communication Award, for outstanding entrepreneurial communication
  • a Special Mention for Internationalization, in partnership with DHL Express Italy
